WHAT DO SINGLES REALLY WANT???

Hi singles out there! Hope your day is going ok by God's grace.

Was pondering on the increasing spate of broken relationships among christian singles these days and one dimension struck my heart.

Apart from the very obvious reasons like wrong foundations, immaturity etc. it does appear as if many singles do not even know what they want for themselves!!!

Ask any single person what they are aspiring for in a potential mate as well as in marriage generally and they'll just go on about some vague generalities like "God-fearing", "hard-working" and so on.

"So what's wrong with that?" you may be wondering. Well, its not that those qualities are undesirable; its that they are not 'person-specific' enough. They are too general, even though they are good in themselves.

My point is, if you have done your homework well on yourself taking into consideration where you have been (upbringing, temperament, exposure, educational backgrond, spiritual development etc), where you are at ( values, strengths, weaknesses, needs, capacity etc), as well as where you're heading (purpose, assignment,dreams , vision, plans etc), you will be able to articulate in clearer terms what it is you are looking for in a mate.
